Like the title says, I just changed both front CV axles and now it pulls hard to left in 2H but not in 4H.
Also- it takes a few minutes to shift into or out of 4H and it makes a big clunk when it does. It started shifting slow just before I changed the axles but the pulling is brand new.

    Any help appreciated!

I got the axles from rockauto.com- GSP brand. Supposed to be one of the better ones

I haven't had to change CV but word is OEM or nothing.

Just guessing since its the last thing that was touched.

The description of shifting into 4HI isn’t an issue IMO. My truck varies, sometimes it’s smooth and others it does what you described.

Don’t know about the pulling. Something is bound up on the left bit that’s kind of obvious. Check your calipers to start.

Too many mods and too much money
^^^ 4hi might have enough torque to compensate for a sticky drivers side brake caliper.

Check for a sticking brake caliper or over torqued Axel nut on drivers side….

    MYSTERY SOLVED (sorta)

I had changed out the front (but not rear) wheels/tires a couple weeks before the axle replacement. Same size tires, just different brand.

Well, I put the old wheels/tires back on the front and the problem went away. That makes sense the difficulty in shifting in/out of 4WD due to potentially different diameters, but I still don't understand the pulling to the left. Especially since I had that tire setup before the axle replacement and did not notice the pulling.

    Thanks to all who posted.
