Probably totaled :(

Went to visit my folks for dinner this evening and on the way home someone in the oncoming lane got sideways in the snow and took me out. Dark, snowing, it happened so fast I never even got to hit the brakes. Full airbag deployment, I’m fine. Drivers of the other two vehicles left in ambulances.

So bummed. If anyone has advice on dealing with the at-fault driver’s insurance, I’m all ears. I feel a good fcking coming. And not the good kind. I don’t know my payoff and won’t know until Thursday, but I’m positive it’s more than kbb. Of course no GAP insurance on my end either. Oh well.

 

The police told me they won’t have the report done until tomorrow, I really hope she has insurance. I’m sure that was a nightmare.

 

Oh yea. Sheriffs, states, two FD’S and two ambulances on scene. Cops said report would be finished by tomorrow.

Depending who your insurance company is, start the claim with yours and let them go after the other drive on your behalf.

 

Thanks everyone. Curtains deployed. Everything deployed except for passengers dash bag. I have geico, they said file the claim with the at-fault driver’s insurance and they would help if I needed them to. Hopefully I can get the report today and start the process.

If the frame is buckled itll probably be totaled, i got totaled out on my 15 tacoma, got hit by an f250 going like 45 ish. No air bag deployment.

Sorry man, glad you are ok. 4Runner hold their value quite well, so you may not be upside down in the loan. Look around Craigslist and see what they are selling for in your area. Remember that everything is a negotiation. Good luck and merry Christmas.

 

so the 4runner did the job protecting you ... that is most important .. good you owned this beast no one in you runner got hurt. runner is totaled .. I have seen other 4 runners just hit a small tree in a parking lot pedal confusion totaled..

what your next step maybe is , having to sue the driver that lost control .. the insurance company will not pay out the full cost of your 4runner blue book value ..cost of rental vehicle and other costs.also stall for payment .. and offer low amounts send you peanut checks etc.. if your not happy with the response and the amount perhaps you can file a lawsuit . most times insurance company will not want to go down that road very bad for insurance company..
