Pre-Facelift Spoiler Light Help Needed

Hello there, I really need help on how to remove this light from the spoiler assembly, as I need to repaint the entirety of the spoiler. I’ve tried pulling it up and out but nothings working. Tried googling around and couldn’t find anything about the spoiler for sport models, only just the base sr5. Removed both screws and am stuck. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Doing all this as I am preparing to repaint my 4Runner (it needs it) and am doing a sport hatch conversion as the sr5/original rear hatch has rusted out.

 

I would just tape it. The plastic housing or clips might be brittle, and if you managed to take it out without breaking it, putting it back in might crack it. Personally I wouldn't take the chance.
