Trying to diagnose a sudden leak on the 22re. I was driving around town and at a stop I made I noticed I was losing a good amount of oil under the truck. I crawled under and looked around and didn’t see any place it was coming from. Oil was ice cold too even after driving for a little while. I drove her back home and noticed a sizzling noise. I relooked and noticed the driver side of the block was covered in fluid. I let it cool down and took a look with a flashlight. It almost seems like I’ve developed a coolant and oil leak at the same time. I was just in there doing a header and there wasn’t any leaks so this obviously just happened. It was the first day we got cold weather maybe the half moon gasket on the valve cover failed? But the headgasket looks bluish green at the seam and that’s where my concern is. Oil pressure was fine the whole time and no overheating issues. I’ll attach an image of what I’m talking about near the head seam. Should I go ahead and do a head job on it or leave it be since it’s running good? I have access to compression/leak down test if that’s a good next option. The rig is knocking on 500k miles so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is finally time to do head work. IMG_0427.jpg IMG_0423.jpg
