So, I can either buy an LS/6 speed swapped Jag, or put portals on the 4Runner.

The portals are actually cheaper, and I could add the supercharger as well to get to the cost of the Jag.

Imagine a cool, good looking corvettte, and you have a vision of the LS swap Jag.

Or, I could have a serious rock crawler.

    Help me, Obi Wan….

    Portals are crazy expensive.
Are you just needing to blow money by the end of the year for taxes or something?
What are your goals, are you wanting a serious rock crawler? If you want a serious rock crawler you can buy a tube chassis buggy for the price of portals and supercharger and have a road worthy REALIABLE vehicle to drive (your 4R), and tow your rock crawler to events to play with and not have to screw with the reliability of the 4R

Tube chassis and full body SxS built on the Polaris and Can-am chassis are an absolute animal at rock events, they are running some of the tube chassis can-am and beating all the purpose built rock bouncers at a lot of events these days and you can buy a rock bouncer SxS for about the price of the portals.

Seems like two completely different extremes.

How nice of an LS swap? Does it look like a bird's nest under the hood? Or, does it look like it came with the car?

Do you want to go fast? Or, do you want to go anywhere?

Picture of an LS swap I helped out with, for grins...

You need to get both of those options out of your head! Invest in the Toll Bridge I have in Central Wisconsin! It sees probably 15 cars a day, we'll be rich! Nah, actually I'd go for the LS Jag if it's a professional looking/operating setup.. ah, decisions.

Where's this toll bridge? I want to put it on Google Maps so I know to avoid it, LOL.

Hey guys I need help. I can’t decide if I want to get a Pinzgauer 710 or a Bugatti Veyron.

The Pinzgauer is much cheaper, but with the money I save I would have it converted to a camper by those guys who do the Westphalia conversions for VW.

Pinzgauer for sure. We've been passing one here in Saudi Arabia that sits in the same spot every day and I had to tell everyone what it was

Ha ha, I drove LS swapped Jag, and it’s really well done. I occasionally buy oddball cars I come across, just for fun.

I started thinking, maybe I should start a new hobby. I never bother modding 4x4s because I just use them for work. Maybe I should mod the 4Runner.

    That’s how my thinking went.

Be sure to budget an extra $2k or so for a shortened Tundra steering rack. Stock rack will puke with larger tires.
