Is the one on the right taller?

If so, it probably goes on the drivers side to compensate for drivers side lean.

Odd the one on the right doesn't appear to have the same coiling even if it is for the right side?

Right!!! I didn’t notice it before installing… the one on the right is sitting 1” lower (installed on driver side…. Even after trying to adjust for lean by moving circ clip to .85…. Still leans 1”. Dobinsons in Florida is wanting me to purchase another set, send the other back and wait until they “inspect it”. I am beyond pissed.

I’d be more concerned with the rust on the welds than the springs.

That one IS on the drivers… I think the coils are smaller and not strong enough… so weird!

Do you have calipers? If they're off, they'd really better send you a replacement (for whichever one is wrong) without "inspecting" it first, and a measurement would close the case.

For those that don't know already (wasn't obvious to me for years) the spring rate of a coil spring is dictated primarily (there are other factors such as material) by the diameter of the cross section of the spring material.

When I saw the pic yesterday or Friday it looked to me like one was a smaller diameter (lighter spring rate).

Two pics showing caliper measurement of spring steel diameter will tell them the tale clearly and might help get you resolution quicker.

Hope you are able to get this sorted.

I agree, get a measurement of the coil diameters and send it to the seller. Send him a pic with the caliper still on the coils. I’ve had a shipping mistake cleared up quickly with some basic pics of what I received. You can get a cheap set of calipers anywhere if you don't have one.

If they are indeed different coils, you shouldn’t try to unsee it. Having different rates at the corners isn’t right. It sucks that you have to do the job again, but I’ve learned plenty of lessons the hard way myself. You’ll be quicker the second time around (or third?).

Don't judge me, I put these plastic digis in every toolkit I build--I'm too dumb to read a vernier and it makes for easy pics.

Happen to have installed 302s this morning and both of mine are 0.70" diameter wire.

The photos of the caliper on the springs is the way to go. I'd pretty much insist they send replacements asap and you can return the wrong one(s) once replacement(s) are installed. If they sent you a single replacement spring that matches the thicker spring, would that be acceptable?

Local cheap tool place had plastic ones for a less than 10 bucks (non digital). They’re convenient enough to get a couple.

Digital calipers are one of those tools I got by without for ages, bought when I really needed them, and now find useful surprisingly often.

I hope it works out for the OP. The two springs certainly don't look identical.

Does it sit level for you? Also do you have a lean spacer?

It does sit level; no spacers and the 5100 both set to the lowest height.
