Hi everyone, idk if it’s just me but when i get a new car, i feel like it’s not mine until I do some work to it. Last car was a gti and i did a ton of work to make it feel like it was specific to me. I want to do the same to the 4runner and want to keep it relatively stock but make it somehow “different” than others. I don’t plan on doing any off-roading so overland gear isn’t something i’m looking into. Any tips?

Definitely don't do raptor lights if you want to be different.

In my opinion, a custom, snarky "tag", that makes it past the sensors, sears an image into my memory.

    You do you, frostytrd!

Plus one on the no raptor lights..

I really wanted a Golf GTI for a daily driver/run around vehicle when I bought the 4runner, I've heard they're a lot of fun (haven't had a manual in over 15 years). Since I mostly work from home now I no longer need it but would like to have both.

As far as personalization, OP, are you thinking interior or exterior?

the gti was a stick and i don’t regret buying one, it had a lot of character. I was thinking both exterior and interior but nothing too major

Partial tint at the top of the windshield with letters cut out to spell a Latin phrase. Carpe Diem, Nil Desperandum, etc. You’d be the first kid on your block.

Vespas are pretty quick and corner well. Could be a good alternative.

I feel the same. Which is why I didn't just do emblem black outs. I sprayed mine Red and added some simple pin striping. I have done this with many of my old cars over the years, though it seems manufacturers have stole my idea.

Individual Throttle Bodies, trim deletes, suspension and chassis work. Might as well.

I vote on the individual throttle bodies. Would be bad ass.

edit: @pastoreater I would pay for the option to like your post multiple times if I could it's so good.

Two sets of raptor lights. No one has two sets of raptor lights. Because no one was ever cool enough. Until now.

Fifteen52 Analog HD's, Nitto Terragrapplers, 1" spacer lift front, ceramic on all glass.

I picked up a 22 ORP and I once had lofty goals of a monster build that turned heads. Here it is now with the roof rack deleted, OEM sliders so they don't stick out far, Eibach lift, and hood swapped for one without a scoop. Next up is 255/80's because suddenly I love the look of pizza cutters. Just keep looking around at things and browsing other builds. Before you know it, you'll have a plan in place.

I just threw up in my mouth. Glad you like it though, as I've said before, if we all liked and did the same things, life would be boring.

OP, if you want to be different, don't do the blackout emblems...
