I need part number 45187-60070-C0. It’s the left side cover for a 2023 heated steering wheel. I’ve ordered 3 and all say -C0 on the package but the actual part is stamped A1 and doesn’t fit. The dealers won’t take the part back because it’s only $5 but the shipping is a killer. Is there a dealer on this forum that can order the part for me and make sure it’s the actual part before shipping it to me?

No immediate update to report. I was thinking it was a quicker check for that left side airbag bolt cover. Not sure what the disconnect/change would be.

This is who I ordered my parts through. They get stuff right 95% of the time. Contact them to confirm fitment, or just order it through the local dealer and compare before accepting the part.

Thanks for the suggestions! My local dealerships are trying to tell me it’s a discontinued item, which is hard to believe.

I rather doubt that. Sounds like a lazy parts counter problem.

You have 2 sources now, one from @Old Red and one from me. The one I supplied has a phone number. You can call them, have them verify the correct part is in the correct bag before they ship it.

The local junk yard won't have one, and getting an actual junk yard with one to send the correct part will be nigh impossible.

Most dealer parts counters are not great. My local dealer used to constantly give me the wrong parts or tell me stuff won't work. Every time I got an oil filter they would ask "Is that for the V4 or V6?" (I'll let that comment speak for itself:bananadead:).

Now I order my parts online through whoever has the cheapest price (shipping cost included). All dealers pay the same price for parts. Go with the one who doesn't gouge you.

This is the part highlighted in green? I'm surprised it's unique to heated steering wheel. Is the "A1" molded into the plastic?

The wheel itself from 2010-24MY is the same except 23-24 got the heated version. The difference is in the plastic back shell that mounts to the wheel metal frame with mounts for the heating element controller. They changed that, as well as the two airbag bolt covers. They are ever so slightly different, and frankly I don't understand why, but they are.

Bam Wholesale was a bust. They said the part was back ordered and they refunded my money. Trying Toyota Parts Deal next. If they cancel, I’ll try the local yards.

According to PartSouq, the non-heater bolt cover is 45187-60040-C0, while the with-heater bolt cover is 45187-60070-C0, wholly different part number, not a different suffix.

In Toyota's part numbering system, the -C0 denotes color. 45187-60070-A1 isn't a valid part number. Since it's molded into the part, it denotes the shape, while the finished part (black color) is 45187-60070-C0. You retrofitted an OEM heated wheel? You sure it's OEM and not aftermarket?

@CJT4Runner, I just pulled the cover from my wheel, and this is what it looks like.

    IMG_0565.jpg

All have A1 in them, and like @3JOH22A mentioned, C0 is part color denotation (black in this case). Are you sure you received the wrong part? They are a PITA to get to clip in properly. Is the shape of it not fitting, or not sitting flush when installed? The front edge closest to the steering wheel switch needs to go in first, then the rear larger clip (R-hand side of photo) clips it in.

Of the 2 and the original non heated steering wheel, I have a 45187-04010-A3, a 45187-60040-A1 and a 45187-04010-A1. The 60040-A1 is from the non heated. All 3 are too big for the left side opening.

Well that confirms it. You got sent the wrong part. You have 3x of the non heated covers. I just looked it up, and 45187-04010-C0 replaced the 45187-60040-C0 part number. A3 vs A1 is unknown to me (maybe production facility or mould #?). Who did you order through? Asking so people know as a heads up.

    cover.png

I would go through Toyota parts deal, or Ourisman Toyota (I've been ordering through both a lot lately, and they are 10/10 for correct parts for me thus far).

One is from the original steering wheel but the other 2 were from Sparks parts and Heartland Toyota in Bremerton. I placed an order with Toyota parts deal.

This is different from what you reported in your original post. Looks like you didn't try to order 45187-60070-C0. Instead you ordered 45187-60040-C0 which is factory for your 2020 model and since been superseded by 45187-04010-C0. Did you give the web sites your VIN by mistake? Obviously don't do that if you're buying a part not original to your vehicle.

ToyotaPartsDeal cancelled my order. They stated “Your order has been voided because of the following reason(s): The ordered part(s) have been discontinued (no longer available) and/or is backordered with no ETA date by the manufacture.”

When I ordered the covers from the websites, I ordered 45187-60070-C0 but got different covers. When ordering, of course I didn’t use my VIN but did use a 2023 when asked what 4R. I may have to try to direct order from Japan.
