ok don't flame me, probably a stupid question...
I've been looking at the procedure for servicing the transmission on my 2019 SR5....can I not do it the 'old school" way , dropping the pan, changing the filter out along with the fluid? or does that not get enough of the fluid ? I know we pretty much never get 100% anyway, but that's how I always did it on my Chevy products.

I believe just a drain and fill is all that's needed.

I just did a drain and fill at 83,000 mi. It was quick and easy using my OBDlink MX+. Viking Garage's YouTube channel has a great how-to for the drain and fill.

You can drop the pan for a standard service. I’m using the tranny’s pump to flush the fluid out using an old method documented on TW. It’s pretty easy.

This. If I recall, the total amount of fluid is around 12-13 quarts. Dropping the pan nets you 3-4 quarts. If you're going through the trouble of dropping the pan, why not do a total fluid exchange as Whip said? Just a drop and fill only gets you between 1/4 and 1/3 of the oil. Would you do that with your engine?

No need to. Drain and fill.
