Hi guys. I'm new here happy to be here as well. I have a 2001 Toyota 4Runner with about 214,000 miles that I purchased and Costa Rica where I'm currently living and I actually decided to drive that car around South America and I'm currently in Ecuador. I have a few problems. I was hoping that if I can have some clarity on.

The code that comes up is C1253 and my issues really have to do with VSC and traction control activating when in 4x4. When I turn my wheel lock differential on, it minimizes thr issue as it turns off traction control but thr problem still happens a little.

The problem in 4x4 is when accelerating, traction control turns on and prevents the car from actually accelerating. It almost sputters and starts moving forward to have The traction control prevent any real acceleration. Now should the car go more than 5mph and rpms up to 2/3 then the problem goes away. The traction control light also activates when in regular drive mode but has difficulty I noticed when going up hills (when I'm at a res light or stopped on a hill, u have to pump the gas to get the rpms high enough to actually get the car going otherwise there's no acceleration from the car, unlike in 4x4 it doesn't sputter but just doesn't accelerate at all so the car has no power and would just roll backwards if I don't pump the gas.

I think my options is to purchase an entire new ABS pump hydrobooster but wanted an opinion on exactly what to buy on ebay, and if there's any other parts to replace.

I will be in Lima Peru so shipping time and ordering can be tricky so any prompt response would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi I have a 01 4runner the 01 and 02 are the only ones with the stupid traction control it's not in the electric brake system which is expensive to replace I unhooked my driver's side wheel speed sensor in the rear it disabled the traction control it will turn on a couple of dash lights but won't leave u stopped by the traction control there is a way to put a toggle switch in the computer wiring to be able to manually turn it on and off on YouTube
