    Fellow enthusiasts,

I was looking for help in regards to ordering a new bumper for my 2020 Limited. I am specifically looking to learn which vendors accept Bitcoin for 4Runner related accessories or parts. I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me towards a bumper/skid plate vendor that accepts crypto. Also, I'd love to know if there are any OEM part vendors that accepts crypto as well.

    Hope you all stay safe!

Not that someone might, but I've honestly not seen Bitcoin direct payment with any of the better known vendors / brands. You'd have to convert it first to Meta Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc. Many seem to take those now.

Curious as to advantage of paying with crypto. Is it hard to cash that out?

Have you considered converting the BTC to cash to buy a bumper?

Do you have it in an old wallet where you don't need to report taxes? ....unless you transfered to an exchange to convert to cash?

It's a matter of convenience, and savings. I live in Latin America, and here, I pay a 5% to exchange crypto to cash. Once I did change it into cash,
many companies would be inclined to mark my credit card purchase as suspicious since it's not from the US, and I'm shipping to a PO Box. Not an address where I can provide a utility bill with my name on it.

That too is the case. If I spend the Bitcoin directly, I don't have to pay any taxes on it.

What country do you live in?

    Edit: disregard. I understand.

Edit 2: no idea if they would or wouldn't, but they probably already do. The block chain will always have a history of all transactions. It wouldn't take much effort to associate those with a person. To get money off your wallet you need to transfer to an exchange. You need your name attached to your account on an exchange.

So if you mined these coins or put it in a wallet long ago. Sure that works. But maybe converting to monero first so you know it will never get back to you.

There's no statute of limitations for income tax in the USA.

Edit 3: I did not understand. You live in a country that probably does not tax crypto

I think the exchange fee and taxes will be the least of your problems when shipping a bumper on a pallet outside North America...

In North America, often the bumper on a pallet is delivered to a nearby freight terminal, not to a residential address. Most vendors are used to this, and expect you to provide a "ship to" freight terminal address along with the billing address that is registered with your credit card company.

^This^. And then the OP added that his "shipping address" is a PO Box. Must have a really amazing PO Box to accept pallet shipments!

At the rate of inflation for the federal reserve note, the second you exchange btc for cash, your losing value. Then by the end of the day, they'll send a few more billion somewhere else in the world and then its worth even less. As well as your tax man concerns.

PO Boxes overseas are different, our company ships large items to P.O. Boxes overseas regularly

Crypto bros made a quick nut with the election and the jump in the crypto market. Time to spend a little cash on fun things! Lol

I’m not one of them, I have 120 dollars worth of bitcoin as of right now

Open up a debit crypto card (something like Coinbase offers), first swap whatever coin you want to USDC coin (preferably not through Coinbase) , then send the USDC over to your Coinbase (or similar) account and you can spend it just like cash because there's no conversion factor (or very little) between USD and USDC so there's no secondary exchange that occurs when using the card... Best way I've found so far to take money out and actually use it to purchase physical items

Bitcoin doesn’t scale well in transaction speed, transaction fees and translating it into “actual” currency for your purchase is the best path given the potential for volatility and current status as a speculative asset.

Not to mention the whole issue wasting as much energy as a hypothetical 51st state for these tulips.

I do remember a time when some big names accepted Bitcoin like Microsoft for certain transactions but I don’t remember if that’s still going on. I believe Valve dropped it.

^OP is in an undisclosed Latin American country. When that pallet arrives at port, he'll still have to grease the appropriate palms to get it.
