I like it but it looks like it’s got some problems. I’d still buy it though. I’d probably offer around $5000 for it

I bought my 4Runner from someone who was “looking for a more fuel efficient car in a high traffic city” and it turned out that he just didn’t want to pay the $9,000 of repairs that was needed because he screwed it up so much. My Runner was 100% still worth it though. Just letting you know so you’re alerted unlike like me.

What issues do you think it would still have?

I’m not entirely sure but I just have a feeling given the rough experience I had buying mine with the similar excuses to upgrade. The guy says the exhaust has a leak and the there’s a problem with the ignition and that makes me worry a little bit because he could be underexaggerating just to sell. Also I’m not sure about you but the finish on a car is important to me and they also said that the paint on the front is chipping so I think that would turn me away. Just voicing my opinion. I would still definitely check it out, give it a drive and take it to a mechanic (I didn’t do that to mine before I bought it and regretted it). Seems like a nice enough truck to give a good hard thought though. It’s all about the feeling it gives you when you drive it. Then the money to fix the problems is either worth it or not.

You are looking at a 23 year old vehicle. At 30 years a vehicle is considered an antique.

I would say as long as the frame is straight, and no major rust anywhere, you should make the guy an offer. Not 7k though. Go into it with an open mind, plan on working on the thing, and have fun.
