    Wasssuuuppp 4Runner fans?
    I am new to this forum. I can’t believe how much info. is on here! What a great place to get educated…and lost for hours.
    I’m sure this has NEVER been asked on here before (sarcasm), but if I am on the hunt for a daily driver that can also reliably go on some annual, long treks, what years/generations are the most reliable?
    My budget is $11,000 or under & although I know these things generally run forever, I’d still prefer under 175,000 miles.
    Oh, and it’d be nice if it was SWEET lookin’.
    Input from all you 4Runner nuts would be appreciated!

    Under 11 grand, good luck with that in todays market. All you will probably find are 2nd Gens and 3rd gens and maybe some very high mileage 4th gens. If you do find one, look hard at the frame for rust.

    On facebook, there is a group called "4runner Classifieds" that you could scour through to find one.

    @steal-thanks! I have been checking on FB Mktplace mostly. The last 2 I’ve lost out on that I thought were “the ones” (a 4Runner & a Rav) were on there. The search continues…

    @trlhiker-the beauty I lost out on was a 2006 SR5-153,000 & $11,500. Still grieving that one!

    @Moon Landing- Thank you kindly, sir! I have been looking on many of those sites, but appreciate the “all in one” link!

    That is also an issue. If you find a good one, you need to grab it fast. You snooze, you lose as the old saying goes.

    Found a 2007 SR5 V-6 with 198,000 for $9900 (far away from where I live).
    I know these suckers can go forever, but how much more longevity might be left? I say this only having seen pics. I am waiting for pics of the undercarriage. The seller is 2nd owner & has only owned since August. She downsized to a smaller vehicle, supposedly. No maintenance records available & no knowledge of any major repairs that have been done. Would have to try to find a mechanic in that area to check it out.

    Input anyone? Thanks!

    Note: I feel like this is becoming a full time job trying to find a 4Runner & a RAV4!

    Looks good but I would be highly suspect of a vehicle owned for only 2 months with no maintenance records. Perhaps it is true that she only wants to downsize or perhaps she found something seriously wrong with it and is trying to dump it. It is smart to get it check by a mech. If you tells us where it is, maybe someone on here can check it out for you. I wonder why she pixeled out the woods in the pictures?

    @trlhiker-you confirmed my gut feeling. Thanks! She stopped responding after I asked some more questions (such as can I get pics of the undercarriage), so I thanked her & told her I decided to move on.

    I actually did the pixel fix because I try to use caution (privacy) when posting other’s pics.

    I need to find a mechanic in Valdosta GA to do an inspection on a different Runner I’m considering. I did a separate post in the general 4Runner forum, but wondering if I need to post it in another area?
