    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone has done a 3" OME lift on their 5thgen. Mine should be arriving soon. I got the OME UCAs and a diff drop for it as well. But wanted to know about the stance. Should I be putting a leveling spacer up front as well?

Added mine in September with a dif drop but didn’t need the UCAs. Put on 285/70/17 at the same time as well. Went with the heavy duty up front since I added a steel victory blitz and 10k smitty

No, no spacer on top of your suspension lift.

I added the 887 front coils and the 889 - 440 heavy duty with the guards. Looks like my exact order except for the UCAs. I got mine from ApexOverland when they were running a special.

    Feel free to ask
OME 885/889 with diff drop on mine.
Stock UCAs. Haven’t measured, but I’m sure it’s a little less than 3” after settling.

54C10881-E80A-4BFA-9EAF-9BAA8CF90698.jpg I installed 884 up front and I think 889 in the rear. Was way to stiff in the rear. Removed the 889’s and went stock springs with 1” spacers. I also installed JBA UCA’s. Firmed up the on road ride. Air down the tires for crawling in Canyonlands, works well with the KDSS in rock mode. And wasn’t difficult to install.

I wonder if people are getting a little stiff in the rear of the truck, cause they are using 889 springs instead of 895. Both have the same spring weight but 889s are taller than 895. Which means the shock has to over travel.

some suppliers and arb when I take to them recommend 884 or 885 for the front and 895 for the rear. While others sell the kit with 889s in the rear.

still debating going with OME kit

also I think tire choice makes a huge difference, lifting then adding a heavier E rated tire will give a stiffer ride. Rather than going with a lighter rated tire like designation At, toyo open country At, BFG trail terrain etc…

When I was talking with ARB looking for a 3” lift. They recommended the 884 up front and 889 in the rear, along with their Nitro shocks. When I installed the kit , I knew the 889 were way too tall for what I wanted in the rear which had at least 4” of lift. I removed the 889’s and went with stock rear springs and 1” spacers this leveled the 4Runner and the ride was comfortable.Ultimately I ran the 884’s up front and Bilstein B12 1” lift springs in the rear. I’ve been running this set up for several years now. I wound up with 2-1/2 “ of lift up front and 1” in the rear. Sits fairly level. I don’t mind the ride quality. The setup flexes well while rock crawling. I run General Grabber LT’s which are heavy and stiff. I usually air down to about 18-20psi off-road. All said done I’m happy with the ARB/Bilstein setup.

So ya'll are talking about too stiff in rear and changed your springs back to original in the rear, but did you upgrade your rear shocks/struts or stick with OEM Toyota?

My ride feels perfect not too stiff but obviously not as soft as OEM Toyota, every aftermarket can feel stiffer than original with exceptions (especially if you have adjustable shocks.

I run 3/2 suspension lift no spacers obvs
ICON 158506 2" rear coils (700lb spring rate)
ARB OME 884's front springs (590lb spring rate)

I put the OME BP-51 Medium kit & OME UCAs on last month. Thats 889 springs in the rear.

I previously had a diff drop on my 2010 TE but multiple sources including Toyota Master Mechanics & SLEE Offroad in Golden, CO advised that the diff drop actually isn’t needed for 3” or less of lift on a 5th Gen. Don’t think there’s a downside to installing it tho other than reduced clearance since the skid has to drop an inch lower as well.

Now that is ironic, as when I talked to ARB they told me 895 springs are for the rear matts with either 884 or 895 (if have a winch) in the front . I mentioned I see some kits selling with 889 rear and he says that is a mistake and would never recommend 889s for the rear on a 5th Gen 4 runner . The tech Spoke to as well at ARB has a personal ‘14 4runner and runs 884 front/895 rear springs and says he and family love the ride.
