So seems come across many companies selling the old man emu kits with the lightest rear spring option being 889. And many installing this (and say has stiff ride).

But when look at OME application catalog, the 889 is not even listed as an option and 895 is suggested for the rear. When talked to ARB Rep on the phone he stated not sure why 889s are being used?

So I’m confused, why are many shops (yotamafia, toytec, etc) selling the OME kits with 889 springs instead of 895?

Would not the 889s be a bit longer than the 895s, resulting in less performance from the matching OME shock resulting in less down travel thus a harsher ride?

I know when had an FJ cruiser I used 895 for the rear with good results.

Just not sure why 889s are being sold with the kits.

889 are rated to hold more weight than 895

Because people think they know more than the designers of those parts.

On the Old Man Emu spec sheets you would want to go from 895 to 896 or 897 springs if you were carrying more weight. 889s are not listed at all. As I understand it 889s are just taller? Still does not make sense.
