    Hello All!
Rich (RichieRich) here and I am a proud owner of a 2024 4Runner with the Limited trim package. I bought this vehicle because I live in a snow state (New Hampshire) and need the 4WD features. Another reason is that I wanted to get a hold of the 4.0 Liter V6 before they switched out to the 2.4 Turbo.

The only mods I have done so far was to add a pair of Westin chrome running boards which look absolutely fantastic together against the black paint and chrome of the exterior. I love my "tank" and am just looking for some advice. Here are some questions and I'll admit I haven't checked the forum yet but...

#1. Was the tailgate rust issue fixed with gen 5?
#2. Thinking of going to the 17" wheels. Can I use the same wheels and just change the rubber?

Well time for me to do more research and I did read another issue of the truck doing "gear searching". Mine does that too but I am learning to feather the pedal better as this vehicle does not seem to like too fast an acceleration. Anyway it's nice to be here!

    Rich

Thanks IronGuy. Seeks like a lot of 4Runner folks from Arizona. Nice place! I slept at the bottom of the GC once. Hot down there with lots of deer. The walk back up was very hot with no shade but I would and hopefully will do it again someday!

    Welcome.
If I understand your tire question, you want to go to 17" from 20". That will require a change to 17" wheels.

Hey thanks for replying, Bagman! Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. So I would need knew wheels eh? Any recommendations? Maybe the TRD Line? Would I also have to change my wheel settings to make the odo and speedometer correct or is the actual tire assembly the same diameter for either size? Not sure what are good tires either. I don't really like what are on the truck now (Bridgestone Duelers). Thanks again.

I did the same got rid of the 20’s and went to the ORP 17’s...tons of tires in that size to suit what you’ll be doing...I went with the Michelin Defender Ltx/ms2’s and love them...4-5 trips to Montana with blizzards...2 trips to Moab (greens and blues) and no complaints...be honest with how you’ll really be using the rig and get the appropriate tires...enjoy the Limited...I do ;-)

I agree with @Ricphoto. I don't have a Limited. I'm not big into offroading and think the Michelin Defender Ltd/ms2’s are an excellent on- road/off-road choice for my needs. YMMV. I too put ORP 17's on my truck. Love the look.
