    Hey all, first post here.
I'm sure its been asked and answered somewhere, but my sleuthing skills haven't turned anything up. This is my first off road vehicle. When I added it to my insurance, they asked specifically if the vehicle had any modifications. At the time it didn't. It now has a 2.5" Icon lift, wheels and tires.
TLDR, do you all inform your insurance when you mod and what are the ramifications of doing so? Will my rates go up because I off road? Thanks in advance.

From what I understand if you wreck your vehicle now, all the mods you have done will NOT be covered by your insurance. Only stock will be covered. If you are ok with that no need to tell them. If you want them covered then tell them but be prepared for your insurance to go up a bit.

It's like where I live(Wisconsin) In the winter time lots of people are driving out on the lakes, somebody's gonna fall through... some are covered, some are not. Different insurance company, different rules. I told the insurance company when we did mods, wheels, tires etc. If we total out our vehicle, we're covered. I never did ask them about driving out on a frozen lake though! Ask your insurance company "what if I did these mods, how much would my insurance go up?" If it's a few bucks....oh well, your covered.

    All of them.
This is the correct answer. If you need a claim they won’t cover whatever xyz product you have. Now the flip side of this is say your lift fails and you lose a upper and your wheel folds in and destroys the front end. Well that’s not covered now because your aftermarket part caused it. Falls in line with warranty claims and magnusum law (it’s not spelled that way). They have to prove the suspension caused your upper to break etc but good luck
