No oil pressure

Checked oil pressure today with guage. Zero. No pressure also if there was any pressure oil would come out in it iil tube to top of valve cover. Nothing. I've taken timing chain cover off pump looks good. Also pressure switch with prong functions. It's next to pump. My engine has 65000 no sledge. Looks new

 

Could the oil pan be smashed up closing the pick up tube?

OP if you may want to drop the pan and inspect the pickup tube. Something may be keeping it from picking up oil

Side note that may or may not be helpful to you:
On newly built LS/LQ based engines I will typically run a pressure gauge at the oil filter housing then also the top of the engine where the factory oil pressure sensor goes. Seeing that pressure drop can often give me an idea of bearing condition or even indicate excess oil clearance somewhere in the system.

 

I'm going through the entire engine. I hit a folding canvases beach chair imon the fwy. I thought I ran completely over it but it clung to the wheel and came around to puncture my radiator with a half inch metal tube. About a min. Later my oil pressure gauge light went on. I pulled off the fwy. It's too late engine damage. The oil pick up tube in the pan is made of thin plastic. I guess Toyota wanted to save a buck or two. It weakened from hot oil. Broke off then pieces got sucked up into pump then clogged filter. If I would have known this could happen I would have dropped the pan and out a metal one in. Toyota has since changed it and auto zone and I Reilly won't even sell a plastic one in the first place. I'm out of warranty but I'm going to file small claims against them for price of engine. The fact that they changed it to a different oil pick up tube prices there was a problem. I talked to Toyota mechanic. I am not alone

How long have you ran the engine without oil pressure?

I am not a lawyer, but I would be surprised to hear you got anywhere with the lawsuit considering it is clearly failed as the result of highway accident. Toyota will argue that the part is not defective and was never designed to withstand hitting metal debris. My recommendation is to save your money and time.

On other hand, you insurance may cover this, at is catastrophic damage/accident.

The pick up bribe is inside the oil pan and was never touched by anything. The bottom line is. You're entire d gone should not be completely damaged because you over heated from a loss of water. Hose can spring a leak serpentine belt breaks. Hose clamp comes on done any little thing with a hose and boom 10.000$ engine destroyed because Toyota wanted to save 2$ on a 4 inch tube. That's their negligence. Over heat ruin you're engine.

 

No lawyers in small claims. I'm just asking for 5k. I'll bring in an oil pick up tube used in my year and model and one they sell as the replacement. It's still plastic but it's 2 x thicker.

 

Pieces got sucked up into the pump then chewed up into pieces about the size of a grain of rice. They clogged the oil filter and oil cooler. I'll tell you now that all this took place in about one mile on the fwy at 70 mph my oil pressure gauge red light came on. I looked at tempguage it was a out 3/4 up. I pulled over then the guage went all the way up because water wasn't circulating.
