    I purchased a 2010 SR5 4WD for my twin 17yr olds and we're headed up to the subject area for vacation in late June. Wonder if anyone could suggest some good beginner trails or forest roads that newer drivers could get accustomed to dirt driving.

    Beautiful area! I'll be up in Pinetop visiting family around that time for the 4th. I haven't went offroad up there but have seen pics and it looks fun. Hopefully others will reply although I feel the area specific threads are notoriously slow. Have fun!

    Lots of forest roads in the WM, if nothing else. If it’s open, I highly recommend visiting the fire lookout tower that’s closest to town. The ranger(s) let small groups up in the tower and you can see what they see.
