Looks like a good alternative to many of the other AT's out there that are not overly agressive. Should be even better in the rain/snow over the original Duratracs which have been great for me so far. Though my Duatracs are relatively quiet i bet these will be even better.

Not as aggressive though, and Kevlar??

    An article on them: https://www.goauto.com.au/news/good...ngler-duratrac-rt-in-oz/2023-09-25/92029.html

I work in the tire industry and would not recommend any Goodyear or Cooper tires to anyone. The amount of imperfections on these tires from the mold process are astronomical. Sidewall, bead and inner liner with nylon showing, gouges and shaved sections. To each their own and check your tires before installing but for me they are an absolute no go.

Never heard that before. But yeah, i feel the same about Michilins with there shitty side walls. lol

For me the Duratracs are so heavily used and abused by all the snow plow guys and construction vehicles around me that highly recommend them i would be hard pressed to find a better all around tire. Though these may be????

The reviews from people i know who have had them are amazing all around. As for myself, I have seen thousands of those tires quarantined from my inventory for having the knobs on the shoulder/sidewall of the tire missing or gouged. Im all set

I’ve never been a huge fan of Goodyear tires, but I gave them another shot and put on Ultraterrains this last go around. So far I am very impressed!

Very similar tread pattern to what you posted.

I wasn't ether, had a pretty bad experience many years ago, but it was more of a highway tire. Was really heastent, but gave them a try since so many tire guys around me recommended them.

Interested in how this next gen of a well designed tire pattern does.

That’s good to know. Are there two or three specific tires you’d recommend?

do you see other brands as well, or you just deal with Goodyear produced stuff?

I bought a set with for my 2017 Tacoma, and swapped them to the runner and so far I’m happy.

I deal with all tire manufactures but Goodyear/Cooper specifically have the most vendor defects out of any tire. All your big name AT tires are going to perform with range of each other (ex: K02, WildPeak, Ridge/Nomad Grappler, Toyo AT3) usually comes down to budget and preference. To thrown 2 names out there I never see on this forum but perform well: Sumitomo Encounter AT in my opinion will be one for people on a budget to look into. Im also interestd in Verdstein Pinza AT, reviews are amazing but I have yet to deal with anyone with personal experience except wholesalers who I dont always trust.

I second these Good Year Ultraterrains from @Discount Tire. So far they've been great, and I'm a KO2 guy.

Looks like a more OE-friendly design evolution with more sipping, but losing the studding provisions.

Tread blocks are closer/not as big too, so not leaning toward Mud as the originals do. Kind of what i like about them.

^That isn't a good thing in my region, where the terrain is large rocks alternating with mud holes. Here the original Duratracs have markedly better traction than milder ATs like the Falken AT3W.

On the other hand, the new Duratrac RT is available in 255/80-17! P/N 176315991 That'll go on my 4Runner next year.

I have had good service from Kuhmo, Bridgestone. Kuhmo AT 52 because I drive more on road. I backed a trailer up a muddy hill with AWD in maypops and never slipped a wheel. Does it matter with the 4wd system?

Has anyone had a chance to try these out yet? Starting to see reviews slowly popping on YouTube.
