    Hey Y'all;

    So I'm basically joining as the person who's going to be working on this vehicle. We picked up a 2016 SR5 4WD with about 66k on the clock for my gf. It was owned by a mechanic's father. It's in great shape as far as the engine is concerned, body has a couple of parking lot dings and some paint rub areas that have rusted on top of the door where they installed the light bar brackets (I'm not a fan).

    The wiring for all the accessories is clean (winch, light bar front, pods front and rear) and the maintenance has been kept up to date. Although, I'm a bit more OCD and as good as they said they've taken care of it and done things "right", I've already spotted things I don't like.

    There are some tasteful upgrades including a Bilstein coilover lift (no pucks), custom front bumper with winch, lock box in the center console, Borla exhaust, and some exterior lights. I don't like what they did with the stance (2" spacers) which cause some rubbing even though it's on stock sized BFG KO2's. So there's some things that need attention right out of the gate which I'll tackle.

    Bit of my background, engineer who wrenches as a hobby. I personally own an 04 Cummins with the NV5600 that I've customized a bit, as well as a 2002 Golf TDI which also has been modded a bit. I do a lot of technical write ups for those forums which I've been apart of since 2012 ish. Prior to that, I had a 99 Tacoma with the 2.7 manual. Even had the locking hubs on it. Loved that truck very much and did all the work to it. Owned that for about 8 years before I bought the Cummins and my diesel hobby began. We also each have motorcycles, Honda Fury is my ride and she has a yamaha bolt, and we both trail ride with YZ250's.

    First things are first though, I'll be swapping all the fluids even though they claim it's been done. I also need to re-boot the front CV's because of a small tear in the driver side so I'm just going to do them all. Going to also replace the CV seals in the diff while I'm in there doing it.

    They just replaced pads not too long ago, but rear rotors look kinda gnarly like they ran them on the backing plate (they are slotted and drilled rotors but the slots are basically worn away) so I'll check to see if a caliper or 2 is sticking, but all 4 corners will get new rotors and pads. The spacers gotta go. It's hard to tell what specs the wheels are that are on there, but it'll tuck them back in. I think eventually we'll look for some TRD pro's to put on there if she doesn't like these ones after. Rear parking brake doesn't work really, so hopefully it's just out of adjustment. I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but that's all off the top of my head.

    Looking forward to being a part of the community and learning more about this 4runner.
    Because pictures mean everything on forums, here's what it looks like, hasn't even been washed since we got it. Trying to refrain her from driving it until I do the CV's as I don't want it to spit anymore grease or potentially damage the bearings (right now there's no play or odd noises). Apologize if the image is huge, still need to figure out this forum editing format

    Yeah I messed around with it, not sure on the coding format for changing imaging size, so if anyone could point me to that, I won't post "in your face" images anymore haha

    Much appreciated, glad to be here. It'll probably take a bit to get re-acquainted to the Yota world. I do miss my Tacoma though!
