New to Me 4Runner!

Hi All,

I'm new to the 4Runner crew and loving my truck so far! But, Im sitting at the dealership now getting an oil change and just learned my truck with about 82k miles on it never had the 60k mile maintenance done. I almost fell on the floor when the tech quoted me $2,250 to have it all done (list attached).

Is this worth it? Should I go somewhere else?

You might have a problem if you can't say goodby to the dealer and you and a friend grab some tools and get to work. Most of that is so routine you basically need very little mechanical skill.

 

That was my hope! The dealer stated the transmission service is tricky on the 4Runner. But I'm hoping some bonding time with my Son, wrenches, and YouTube will get the job done!

 

I'ld ask if they drug test first?

Dealer for trans service is the only thing i let them do. $300. Ive done it, its annoying, id rather let them flush it. Everything else i do on my own

 

Welcome from Wisconsin! The number from the dealership is INSANE. You and your son will have lasting memories on how you saved almost $2,000. The trans service might be a pain in the butt, afterwards you'll thank yourselves.
