    Hi everyone,

I have a 2006 SR5 4.0 V6 4X4 with 150k. I recently replaced the valve cover gasket on the passenger side along with the power steering pump. After I completed the repair, it started making a rattling noise in the front end near the pulley’s on the drivers side. I initially thought it was a heat shield or skid plate but after further investigating I discover it is something different. The only think I can think of is it has something to do with the belt tensioner since I removed the serpentine belt when I replaced the power steering pump.

It only makes the rattle when it is stopped and in drive or reverse. As soon as the RPMs pick up, it goes away. I feel safe saying it’s not the AC compressor since it makes the sound with it on and/or off. Looking for help! Thanks in advance.
