Only a few models have auto lights. It is odd in this day and time.

It might be ancient, but they tend to be very reliable.

 

That’s going to be the game here, hoping this last at least 10 years. Do want to do some trips with off-road type routes.

I’ll probably do factory size upgraded tires and either go ARB skids if I wanna stay budget or CBI steel. Trying to keep it as close to factory as possible!

Thank you everyone! Anything worth checking out here or worth knowing about these cars? I know oil change every 6 months is kinda brutal, go with normal oil or synthetic.

"Auto Lights" as in? (2 month 4Runner owner)

 

You just put your headlights on “auto” and than they turn on when it gets dark.

 

Still navigating my way thru my new 4Runner. What I did notice is there is no automatic headlight shut off, my old 2006 Tacoma Pre-Runner TRD had that feature.

 

Same here bud lol this was a bit of the shock when I was taking delivery. I didn’t think it would not be a thing

 

I'm curious about that, as I have left my headlight switch in the ON position, locked it up and walked away. The headlights were off (and the battery wasn't dead!) a few minutes later.

 

I tried that and it 100% did not work for me.

Where are you at in Wyoming? That place has my heart haha my brother went to UW in Laramie so I got to visit a few times. Even saw Josh Allen play there is senior year! Got to hike some amazing spots (and almost die but that a story for another day lost in a winter snow time) in Medicine Bow Peak.

 

Located in Star Valley, just below Jackson! Awesome you got to see Allen play. Stoked he plays for the Bills! (Bills mafia here). Where are you at?
