    First day here. First post
Looking to get a 4Runner Ltd in the not too distant future and am here to learn what I can before the purchase.
Current Tundra driver, wanting a 4Runner for my wife before the V6 goes the way of the Tundra V8.

I think your decision process is sound. Regardless of all of the poo-pooing towards the current V6 (mostly about it being sluggish and underpowered) it is a tried and true reliable engine.

I bought a ‘22 last December when rumors were swirling about the Gen 6 getting a 4 cyl. I have 0 interest in a small engine in a large vehicle regardless of turbo or not. Being an engineer, I now what happens over time to items that constantly are run close to their limits. It isn’t good. Hence my decision to get a new 5th Gen before they’re gone. This is my 3rd runner with a V6 and I have a LOT of miles with these engines. I know what I’m getting. The 6th Gen, who knows?

Welcome from The Woodlands. I was just in Weatherford visiting an aunt and uncle that have lived there since 1975. I can't belive how much Weatherford has changed. It was my first visit in almost 20 years.

Yes, in 20 yrs it has gone from a little 1 horse town to what it is today. Fort Worth is moving West. Water shortage will slow it down though. It's only rained twice here in the last year.

    Stock...for now.
I had a 1st gen Tundra for over 20 years and made the mistake of getting hypnotized by the new latest and greatest tech that obviously an old Tundra didn't have. I bought into the youtube reviewers complaints that the 4Runner refused to refresh. That was a mistake! I got a 2019 Chevy Silverado LT (Texas Edition) that had all the modern tech you can wish for, including a fancy steering wheel warmer! I immediately noticed slippage with the transmission and took it into the dealership numerous times since it was still under warranty and after months of it sitting there, I would always get the "works as designed" letter, no fix. Anyways, that's a whole other post for another forum, i'm sure. I traded in the junk, I mean chevy and now i'm back to my roots with Toyota. I can say this, i'm extremely happy and steering wheel warmers is for the birds. Buda, TX here BTW.
