New from Bay Area

Hi,
I have a first gen 4Runner that I bought in 2001 from a famiy that had it since they bought it new in 1986. It's blue, SR5. I think it's the only vehicle I can properly drive, and I love driving it so much. It got stolen recently, and I was without it for 19 days (it's been stolen before, but 2 days max). I didn't think I would see it again. It got a parking ticket, and we went to the spot, but it wasn't there. We decided to look around, and we passed it in an intersection! So we chased it, but it got away. It was in good nick so I was relieved about that. My friend went back to the spot at night and found it...without doors. My insurance actually didn't total me out this time. So, I'm here because I'm looking for doors (and some other stuff) and will post in buy/sell/trade eventually, but it currently won't allow me to for 30 days. Excited to be here and and see everyone's 4Runners and to learn about repairs and modifications, etc.

Welcome from Wisconsin! What a wild story. You're extremely lucky to get it back after the first theft, not to mention getting it back a second time! I had a '86 pickup, it was one of the toughest trucks I've ever owned. You'll find doors, there are some first Gen. parts around yet, good luck.
