Who here has new exhaust manifolds. I am looking in to them because I think it will prevent any new hg issues in the future. I am redoing my head gasket now and hate the exhaust system. Who the heck designed it. I think it is the main reason the hg blows at cylinder six. Because all the heat gets trapped right there. Just my thoughts though.

I'm new here to the forums. But, I like you, hated the crossover behind the heads. I dropped a new/rebuilt 3vze into a '95 and didn't want to risk a blown head gasket. I fabricated "Y" pipe crossover downstream past transmission/before catalytic converter. I have a mini welding shop, so was easily doable. without that, you need a friend with one, or a bit of expendable funds. I used stock manifolds. Headers are expensive. One benefit, now plenty of room behind back of engine. Hope this helps.

Ya that’s what I decided. I got a cheap set for $188 not bad for a whole new set of headers and down pipe. They came and they seem like they are nice quality and the reviews said they were good. Hope they improve the ride.
