I would delete this right away. The mod's on this site have zero tolerance for anything political.

 

Elon said the panels kept the blast in, which it did appear to. It blew the top off the truck but otherwise it was fairly intact.

 

How is this in any way political? It is straight out of the news.

 

From all the videos of seen of the Incel Camino in action, it's anything but tough.

 

IMO this incident shouldn't be posted in forums at all.

 

Inviting a discussion about the build quality of a vehicle that has been discussed in this forum on numerous ocassions. Claims have been made that these vehicles are not built well over the last couple years. Not inviting political comments what so ever.

Attempting to keep the thread on track: Mechanically speaking, and with respect to the idea of the body panels having kept the blast in (or in some way directed the blast), do we think that's due to the shape of the bed area, the materials from which it's constructed, or a really convenient combination of the two?

It's interesting that the photo above appears to show the bed cover closed. Is that made of stainless as well?

When I saw the headline I thought “eh, it probably just burst into flames” as whenever an electric car “explodes” it’s more “combusts” but I was surprised to see an actual explosion. (and happy the description was at least correct)

Given it’s confirmed as intentional with actual explosives, what a way for 2025 to start.

Bad week for Turo it seems.

But I still found it funny Tesla built such a flawed vehicle it seemed folks including me weren’t immediately sure if it was a freak defect or intentional.

But also since it seems to have been a bunch of stuff in the bed that I can tell, I laugh at people claiming the Cybertruck’s build saved anyone magically.

 

Incel Camino, hell yeah. Ima use that one.
