My 18’ SR5 doesn’t have auto off headlights so I’m scratching my head. The 15’ SR5 had auto off?

Yours don't turn off after a bit of time after you turn the ignition off, open the door and lock as you walk away? Even my 2010 Tacoma had this function.

Check your settings in the infotainment screen under vehicle.

Do the lights turn off when you lock the doors twice with the key fob?

I have owned this truck for 7 years. It has ALWAYS had Auto off headlights. The last time I changed the battery the Auto off continued to function normally. After the OEM head unit failed 3 years ago it was changed to a Kenwood unit. The Auto off worked flawlessly until this last battery change... Go figure...

I think it's an option for you if you use the carista obdi reader (or if you have dealer do it). You can select how many seconds you want the headlights to stay on after turning off the ignition.

Ok, I don’t have a reader, but honestly I’m ok with turning the lights off manually. Wife has auto off on sequoia and it drives me nuts when she leaves lights on even though they eventually go out. Plus, we go through many batteries and headlight bulbs running lights all the time on her car.

I'm the same as you- I like my lights to turn off when I turn the truck off. Don't need them staying on for 60 seconds when I walk away and wondering if they'll eventually turn off.
