I replaced my belt a month ago and the AC belt wont shut up. When I spray the belt with soapy water the squeak goes away for 20 seconds. I can repeat the noise with the car off just by pulling and pushing the belt.

I think it was too loose, so I tightened the pulley but it still hadn't gone away by the time the tension started making my pulley bearing start squeaking under the strain.

I used a Toyota belt. What is going wrong?

You sure it’s not the tensioner?

Either the tensioner, another pulley or its not aligned but could be caused by the tensioner or another pulley.

Sounds like you found the source of the problem.

I don't think it's misalignment because the belt squeaks when I push it against the pulley by hand. Can I spray it with something to make it be quiet?

Im late to the party but I’ll throw in my two cents. The bearing that allows rotation of the AC compressor pulley might be going out…. The AC compressor itself is okay, but it is a PITA to replace the bearing and clutch on our trucks without pulling it out. Be ready to have a pair of dikes or good cutters when it seizes up because it will melt that belt off….
