Just got the 2024 trd orp 4Runner. New to them and currently have to drive long distance. About 500 miles in. New things I’ve noticed in the heat is the fog that comes from ac vents, quick whistling noise on acceleration from 65+ mph and the breaks making squish noise. From the forums it seems this is normal.

any suggestions for traveling 600 miles while breaking it in.

Variable speeds when breaking in, avoid prolonged hi speed highway speeds. But you already have 500mi.

Fog from AC vents is due to the difference in temp/humidity. Rest can be normal, but i would have to experience it myself.

I did my break-in close to home over the course of a couple weeks. It was a mix of neighborhood roads, county roads, state highways, and interstates.

I’d change the oil before the trip in order to get all the metal particles out of the oil, that’s just my OCD kicking in. At 500 miles, it should be pretty much broken in at this point. You must be in heaven with a new 2024 T4R ORP sitting in your garage. Welcome to the forum!

I'd go head over to Venice beach to find me some more shark teeth and get some fresh squeezed orange juice somewhere.

Drive like you normally would or even just do a full throttle run.

I would check out Painted Hills in Oregon. Since you haven't filled in your location in your profile I'm assuming that should be a good 600 mile trip. Another good 600 mile trip might be a Yukon trip, or Mt. Rushmore?

Love the replies from the community. I’m driving from va to fl. Unfortunately I’m driving it this week and don’t have time to oil change or take many back road drives. I’m looking to do the oil change after around the 1000 miles mark. Otherwise should be good to drive normally on highway with a few stops?

other then the concerns I love driving it it’s surprisingly quiet and smooth ride with the kdss

Vary your speed some and don't use cruise, should be fine. People do far worse things to vehicles.
