Just got my new 4Runner this past weekend. I immediately noticed it drifting right with the wheel centered. The service advisor told me it's fairly common with the TRD wheel/tire package for them to see a drift. Took it in today for them to fix, they did an alignment, and road force balanced the tires. They said the alignment was off from the factory, see spec sheet below. Picked it up an hour ago, and no change, still drifts right with centered steering wheel. The steering wheel centers correctly, and I have to hold it slightly left to drive centered. I'll take it back tomorrow, but does anyone have experience with what the issue could be? I'm guessing tire defect with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers?

My 23' 4R does the same thing so does my 22' Frontier, brand new from dealer lot (I'm an engineer with extreme case of OCD). I've been adjusting the toe-in with a tape measure because factory with their fancy machines can't do what human hands can. Measure the distance between the inner edge of your tires (1/16" makes a lot of difference). Since you're drifting right, then you have to pull in the right and push out the left side steering adjustment (about 1/8 turn on the steering linkage). Make only 1/16" adjustments at a time and I dial down to 1/32" between the tires for final lock down. DO NOT attempt this if you have any doubts.

BTW, I have the XP Gunner package with Nitto Grapplers as well. After about 3000 miles these tires will develop a slight shimmy going 50+ too, gets worse when you don't drive it for a week or two (flat spot starts developing). You'll feel steering wobble as well but this is typical behavior with these tires.

Had same issue and alignment fixed it. However I took it to a performance shop not the dealer. They did mention alignment was off, and also said it was a bit tricky to get it right, they did test drives twice before it was nice and straight.

did they rotate the tires after balancing?

my 4R is sensitive to road crown and will have to hold the wheel slightly left to keep the truck from walking down the crown.

Try swapping left and right front tires. Worth a shot.

I went through your situation when I had the spacer lift removed and went back to 265’s.

I’m running OEM Pro rims w/Nitto RG’s. Turns out the the toe was off . I took it back and they adjusted the toe and it’s been fine ever since.

As the others posted, my truck is sensitive to the crown of the road. Try different sides of the road and compare steering correction.

How many miles are on it. I believe these come with like a preload spacer on the driver's side so maybe it needs to settle a little.

Mine sorta felt slightly drifty to the right, especially on crowned roads but I didnt notice it after 80 miles, or less. I got all terrain tires and they put it on the alignment rack but didn't tell me anything beyond It Was Good so I don't know if I'm on factory alignment or not.

Have you checked the tire pressure? Both my 2020 Tacoma and 2023 4Runner came from the dealership at 40psi. It did not have great road manners which were corrected once I dropped the pressure down.

Have them get the caster on the right .5-.7 higher than the left. That's what it took to stop my Tundra from drifting. I think I ended up at .6 higher on the right but .7 would have been perfect.

They are sensitive to any road crown and AT tires make it worse. I also had the them get my toe into the single digits but yours doesn't look bad. Took me 4 alignments at 3 different shops to get it right and on the last try, I gave the Toyota dealer my own numbers to shoot for. They got super close and I was finally heading straight down the highway. All most shops looks for is, is it in the green? Yes? Ok done. The first shop was the one did that my TRD PRO suspension install and they asked me if I thought I was smarter than the Jap-O-nese that designed the truck.... That's when I moved on. Oh and never forget to insist on a centered steering wheel. I know that seems like it should be a given, but most shops I've been to don't care and don't pay attention so I always mention it and then make fun of myself as being OCD so that they don't think I'm a Karen or something.
