Need help to pass smog

    Head gasket was done 1k miles ago and the TB, WP with new spark plugs and wires. Ask the pvc is change out. What is missing to get pass the smog?
    Some friend recommend put a new catalytic converter. I have no idea how long ago is the cats being change out

    Are you getting the tailpipe sniff test? Sometimes, if the cats aren't hot enough, they will output higher emissions than when at operating temperature.

    take it out on hwy 70mph for 20 miles than go do test.

    ^^^ This. Get the CATS good and hot. Take some off ramps and get back on the freeway using wide open throttle several times.

    if you have an infrared thermometer, once you have the cats "hot" you can check the temperature before the cat and then after the cat and compare. A cat should output hotter gases than it takes in. If the temperature is nearly the same...then the cat is definitely bad.
