    Hello all,

Brand new to the forum and 4runner.

I have decided to buy a new 2022 4runner Limited before the engine change for 2023 and am located in the Kansas City area. Haven't bought a brand new vehicle in 24 years. If anyone has advice on getting the best possible price or the best local dealer to work with I would be very grateful. Hopefully I get get one under MSRP, looking for insight before approaching one of the several area dealers. Anyone know how the out-the-door prices running?

    Thanks

P.S. Wow, after spending some time here I realized I should have explored the site before posting a most redundant question. Apologies.

Hate to break it to you but in this market under MSRP probably isn't happening.

For Limiteds and Pros, you are very lucky if you can get one for MSRP. Under MSRP is not happening Anywhere, that I am aware of. Most of the Pros and Limiteds are being marked up well above MSRP ($5K to 25K and even higher in some rare circumstances). The demand is far surpassing the supply.

Many dealers are even marking up SR5 Premiums and Off Road Premiums. A bit easier to find one of those that isn't marked up, but again, you'll be EXTREMELY lucky to get any 4Runner for less than MSRP. It's essentially a Unicorn at this point. No end in site for the 'mark up market', either.

Thanks for the reply…I will go in better prepared, emotionally. And will be better prepared financially. Still gonna buy one unless crazy silly over MSRP.

Currently have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler and caught the off roading bug.

I am seeing a little softening on pricing in NJ. I am currently looking at a 2022 TRD ORP MRSP $46,899.00 Selling Price $46,399.00 so $500 off MSRP. Plus 1.9% interest for 60 or 72 months. I am very tempted to sell my 2019 Limited to Carvana for a couple of thousand more than I paid for it new - 3 years ago - and buy this TRD ORP.

Create a list of the dealerships your willing to use, reach out to each one inquiring about what you want. I’d suggest doing a build on Toyota dot com first, so you know what your looking for. Don’t agree to anything the first time, just figure out what each dealership is charging and what type of wait are the telling you, and what’s the deposit policy. Larger dealerships will probably get something a little quicker than your smaller dealership, but the smaller ones might be cheaper.

after you get you info, i’d place a couple refundable deposits with a couple dealerships. I personally won’t pay over MSRP, pre COVID, invoice was the deal I expected if not better, so in my opinion the mark up from invoice to MSRP, is the Market Adjustment, not the stupid fees they are jamming us with.

Love it. Got the same color!

See yours came with better tires. Good! And of course you have LED headlights -- wish my 2020 came with them!

Thanks K-Paul. I will keep them in mind.

The jeep is a short wheel base….perfect for those sharp Colorado switch backs like Black Bear Pass.

Got mine at MSRP. But they still managed to force $500 plus other Inhouse Service Package $900 by the finance Manager. Two weeks after mines. All buyers had to purchase Dealers $2k add-ons for new and used cars. Either way, the house still wins.
