    Afternoon,

I made an impulse purchase and bought a Setpower 47Qt 12 volt refrigerator today. Now I’m concerned about power. I have a 2016 with original battery. I’ve been wanting to upgrade and now I have a reason. I plan on using it for road trips, not daily use.

Will a new red or yellow cap be enough for me to leave the fridge plugged in while at a rest stop, a few hour hike, hunting or fishing outing?! Thanks

I’m not the electrical guy here, but most people with fridges run dual battery set ups. @K-Paul what do you run?

I have a Setpower RV45D that I run off a Jackery 850. Without topping it off I can run the fridge-only option for four days straight.

If I run half fridge and half freezer, it will go 14 to 17 hours without being topped off.

    Lots of goodies
Yes. Also, fyi you should be able to turn it off completely and it will stay cold for many hours if the fridge is full of cold stuff and it remains closed. Powering a fridge via a source you aren’t using to start your truck is preferred.
