My new wheels won’t fit?

2010 sr5 4x4 3’ lift. Just got some used wheels for my 4runner, got some 17x8.5 Method 305’s. I researched online and every website I see said they would fit. Also online there are pictures of them on 5th gens. My dust cap is way to big to clear the bore. Am I missing something? Is there something I can do or am I SOL?

 

I WAS THE ROTATE THE TIRES/RIMS ... CLEANED IT OFF THE INSIDE THE RIMS AND THE AXLE ..STEEL BRUSH ... THEN THE A COMPOUND ZINC GREASE DID THE SMALL BRUSH ...

 

If it doesn't cause a rubbing issue, maybe you could use some wheel spacers to bump the rims out past the hubs.

 

What is the wheel’s center bore? Is there a centric ring in there that can be removed? I think our 4Runners are 106.


If not you’re SOL

 

There's nothing to remove so I may be SOL, the gap is so small though.

 

Put a 5mm wheel spacer on the hub. That should solve the problem.

 

My understanding is that the 4Runner relies on hub centric wheel fitment for wheel centering and support. I would be concerned trying a work around using wheel spacers. This would put all of the shear loading on the lugs.

 

Did the previous owner run these wheels on a Colorado or Titan? I see a hubcentric ring or center cap in the wheel in your photo. Pop it out and the wheel should fit.
