    I just bought my first Toyota for $7,500. It's a 2003 4Runner SR5 with a 4.7L V8.
I immediately threw on some upgrades. I listed them blow along with the cost. All parts were found on Craigslist or FB Marketplace:

KSP 2in Front Spacer Leveling Kit ($25)
Ford Bronco Steelies ($100 for 5)
    Falken All Terrains 265/70/17 ($400 for 5)
    Jensen Apple CarPlay ($315)

Ended up selling the stock wheels and tires for $450, so I netted -$390 out of pocket for upgrades. That doesn't include the preventative maintenance I did.

I had to replace the battery/ terminals because they were corroded ($240). I'll need to do the brake rotors/pads soon. The timing belt was replaced at 63k miles in 2011. Anyone know when I should do it again? It currently has 157k miles.

Thoughts on what I should've done differently/ what I should do now? Any other preventative maintenance I should do? My budget was $8,000 but I spent $8,130 when it was all said and done. Not too bad, but I'm curious what others would've done with that budget. The price of the car itself seems to be pretty fair for my area. I had been looking for a while and this was (by far) the best deal I found. It's VERY clean.

Nice build! Really like the basic steelies. Did they widen the stance?

A 4Runner with a V8 is nirvana to me. The 4.7L was in my 2005 Tundra Double Cab and it towed a bunch of stuff all its life. That’s a good score right there. Welcome to the forum!
