My First 4Runner

Jon here from Chicago. Been wanting a 4Runner for awhile now. About 3 months ago I was able to find a used 2016 Limited in Midnight Black with 26k miles for a solid price and decided to pull the trigger. I really wanted to make it my own so made a few easy mods and now I’m loving it. Below is a list of things I changed and some pics as well. Hoping to change the tires out and get a remote start in the future. Let me know if you all have some other ideas or recommendations.

1) Partial chrome delete using PlastiDip. I’m not super keen on the PlastiDip, but it was the cheapest way I could get rid of all the chrome to get the nightshade look. I used it on the front grille, roof rails, and rear chrome. Thinking about vinyl wrapping the chrome on the front in the future. Thoughts?

2) Black door handle overlays.

3) Black front Toyota emblem overlay and black Limited overlays.

4) Tinted front windows ~30% to match the rear windows.

5) Installed YOTA LEDs on the front grill.

6) Installed Lamin-X yellow fog light tints.

7) Installed APS truck armored running boards.

8) Customized the startup and screen off images.

9) Installed a Pedal Commander. I love this thing, it really makes the car more fun to drive.

10) Installed a black Toyota exhaust tip.

11) Installed a black rubber trailer hitch cover.

I am in the ongoing process of customizing my nightshade. I am about to plastidip my front bumper chrome. I already have an oem black emblem. I was wondering do you notice a difference between the black level of your Toyota emblem and plastidip. I know the plastidip is very matte. In the picture I see a little bit of a difference but it is not major.

Also have you used a plastidip glossifier? does it help?
