My first 4Runner, and my first diesel

    1995 Hilux Surf SSR-X, 1KZ turbo diesel (TDE)
    Hey everybody. I'm hoping I can find good info on maintaining my '95 Hilux Surf with the 1KZ turbo diesel (TDE). It's not in my possession yet, but I need to find a maintenance schedule written in English......the owner's manual is in Japanese.

    The poor thing has no idea what it's in for, as it will likely spend the rest of its life delivering mail in a rural area, including 23 daily miles on gravel with 2000 feet worth of elevation change.

    Please refer me to other Hilux owners if you know any. Much appreciated!!

    Welcome from Wisconsin! Mail delivery is kind of a "controlled beating" on any vehicle. Brakes, tires and other parts get a real work out. Interested to see how the diesel holds up. Living in a rural area myself, talking with our Mail Lady, sometimes a carrier will go thru a couple vehicles in 1 year, lets hope you have better luck!

    Found a RHD 96 Jeep Cherokee in the woods and made that last 3 years lol. I have high hopes for the Toyota AND the diesel.....we shall see!
