I’ve searched and been told that because I have automatic running boards I can’t put mud flaps on my 2019 limited. Has anyone found any custom flaps that work? The spray back is ruining the paint on the rear quarter panel.

While I haven't seen the auto-boards installed, as far as the rear mud flaps are concerned it doesn't matter what kind of running boards you have. They sit behind the rear tire, well away from the running boards. The front flaps might be an issue, (unsure of available space) but if it's the rear you're trying to save you'll have no problem installing the rears. Whether it's OEM or aftermarket, anything will work on the rear.

It’s the front that is the issue. Although I don’t see why seems like enough clearance to me. All of the sites I see say front flaps can’t be used with the automatic runners, which I rarely use, just a shin bummer for me. Lol. The truck trim on the front of the rear tires are pitted and black because they get sprayed by crap from the front tires but before I get them taken care of want to figure out if there is something to stop the spray back.

Your op said it was rear quarter panel you were concerned about. Buy a set and try them. Search YouTube, there's tons of install videos, it's an easy job. I wouldn't let anyone tell me it can't be done until I at least try it myself.

Post a pic of that auto running board in both the up and down position in regards to the front tire and wheel well. Possibly a somewhat underneath shot too. I could probably tell by looking at the pictures whether a flap would fit on front or not. Like you, I don't see why it wouldn't either.

I have a 2024 Limited with automatic running boards. I confirm that the OEM mud flaps will work on the rear only. If the running boards are left retracted, the fronts will fit. I am thinking of disabling them. I did not really want them. They were just part of the package on the 4Runner I purchased.
