I am looking at a "2017 TRD Off Road Premium" at a dealer. I have asked "what is the substantive difference between this model and a standard 2017 4runner Premium?". The reply was "leather seats".

Is that it? Is this a fancy marketing name to boost the price? I was hoping for an answer that included the rear differential control or something more tangible that justifies the price differential.

    Any comments appreciated.

    Thank you

What's a "standard 2017 Premium"? Do you mean an SR5 Premium?

4Runner trims are the SR5, SR5 Premium, Limited, TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, TRD Off Road Premium, and TRD Pro. The "Premium" adds things like fake leather seats, heated side mirrors, etc. If you're asking the difference between an SR5 and an Off Road, there are many differences. If you're asking the difference between an Off Road and an Off Road Premium, there are quite a few differences as well.

If I were you I'd go to Toyota's website and check the differences between all the trim levels. They are way too many for someone to list on a forum thread. Even though they would be for current models, it would give you an idea of what to expect with 2017's.

    PS- Welcome to the forum!
