Anyone know who remanufactures the OEM steering racks for Toyota OEM Remanufactured Steering Racks?
I just had a "Toyota Specialist" shop do mine and he quoted me for a non-reman oem at $1200 (part only).
Today I found it to have a sticker on it that says Maval 9378M Remanufactured. Does Maval do the remans for Toyota OEM sales or did I get taken to the cleaners by my mechanic?

Well...... How about, does anyone have any "real" experience with Maval Reman Steering Racks ? If so any negative issues?

I've installed Maval racks back when I had my shop. I don't recall having any problems or "comebacks" with them. But, if I understand you they charged you for a non reman OEM rack. If that's correct you got screwed. There's no possible way an OEM
NON REMAN rack would have a Maval Remanufactured sticker on it. And with just a brief search I found Maval Reman racks for a 4th gen for less than $300 online. If you paid $1200 for the part you really need to go back to them and have a talk. Hard to believe a legit shop would even try something like that. Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

That's what I thought. Over 100% mark up on a retail price. :( I will be following up with this shop an post the outcome.
