ToyTech 2.5" front and 1.5" back lift, 275/70/17 on Titanium grey wheels. Waiting for Magnuson supercharger to be delivered.
Hi all, I recently purchased a new Lime Rush 4Runner and have, so far, added a ToyTech 2.5" front and 1.5" rear lift with 275/70/17's on Titanium Gray wheels with proper back spacing. I initially wanted 285's but the Fox rear shocks didn't clear the rear tires for that size. And I just had the Magnuson supercharger installed as well. Now, the SC does not make itself known when starting the truck or at very low speeds/rpms. It does make the engine feel more responsive though and at mid-range it is felt even more. I haven't done any full throttle stuff as the drive train only has about 800 miles on it, so I'll give it a go after 1k miles. The installer is an ASE certified tech with about 31 years of experience and he did an excellent job of installing the SC. I like that the power is gradual rather than abrupt so there is no shock to the drive train unless (I'm assuming) you mash the petal. The tech did say that the CPU uses "fuzzy logic" to learn how you drive so that plays on how the SC will behave over time.

The power is there but my understanding is that is meant to come up at much higher speeds as the engine opens up. So you will see the gains in the 50 and up speeds. I don't think the design is meant to be having lots of capacity in the low range and it probably wouldn't be that great for the vehicle. If the flashing was done correctly your new tuning should give you much faster changing in the gears. I can tell a big difference as you move from lower gears to higher. And when you go over 50mph and you give it some acceleration the thing goes like never before. You can hear the whining too...like some big cat is underneath the hood. And if in doubt....get in a dyno and you will see it. I am happy with my unit so far...we just got to be mindful to be easy on them and not to abuse it. At least that's what I hear from the rest of the gang. Enjoy it. Send pictures too..

There is DEFINITELY an improvement right from the start. Having had a non SCed '13, I have found that the power improvement is there ... everywhere. Granted it really comes alive above 3500 RPMs (along with the blower whine), but my '13 never accelerated in any RPM range or gear. Yes, it's expensive, but for me, worth it. And ... with my driving style, the millage is the same.

As for taking is easy ... Toyotas are built. As long as you don't mess with Magnuson's tune and pulley setup, you should be good to go. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. LOL!
