dropped off my 4 runner to superchargers online in simi valley today to get the Magnuson kit installed on my 19 4runner. I should have it back by Monday. Stay tuned for my review/thoughts.

So, how much boost can the stock block take? I've never seen it listed. Not an issue with the size pulley on the Magnuson, I'm guessing it's only 6 lbs. No one even bothers with a boost gauge or a wide band. still I would like to SC, headers, mid pipe w/ less or no cats.

I think the Magnusson puts it around 340hp, 350tq. I was looking awhile ago, so I might be wrong here.

I'm very interested in this. I have no interest in drag-racing mine, but more torque would definitely be welcome..

    Congratulations on your purchase!

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the results.

Now I want to hear (YouTube I guess).
But, really I want to feel a 300hp+ 4runner with no lag... That sounds excellent!

We will find out. I’m going to have Magnuson tune it sometime afterwards to optimize performance for my setup.

It’s for added power for trips uphill and for passing power. With lift tires bumpers winch rack etc the car gets heavy and is sluggish from factory already. It’s going to hopefully be a night and day difference.

You did this on a '19? If something goes severely wrong who's responsible? Surely not Toyota. You basically just voided your warranty on anything in my opinion. The dealer will blame that on everything going forward whether it was the cause or not.

You can have a SC dealer installed. Again nothing new here.

I knew the old TRD supercharger could be dealer installed. I didn't know they would install an aftermarket part. But then, you can buy a Z with a Stillen blower from the factory and have a warranty.

If everything here is old news, why are you in here asking questions?

Magnuson covers it and gives you a three year warranty. You change a windshield wiper and if something goes wrong the dealer doesn’t cover it. Who cares about the dealer. These kits are bulletproof and CARB legal.

Lol a lot of folks have done this. The kit only recently became carb legal in CA which is why I didn’t hesitate.

Do they just bolt on the SC or are there any other components that need to be upgraded? Awesome man

Remove exhaust manifold. Blower bolts right on. Odds and ends pumps and hoses. Rather straightforward. No modifications really. True bolt on system from my understanding.

I said "super charger installed. Didn't t say model. Because the qustion still stands. How much boost will the bottom end take?

Always lots of talk about hp/tq, but few dyno's. More talk about hurting your engine. But nothing about compression ratios or air fuel mixture.

Believe the standard tune is 6lbs I’d boost. It’s very conservative. Magnuson makes or made the blowers for TRD.

Tracking 6lb pulley...aka 6lbs of boost. Very safe for any block.

Tuning isn't always about dyno pulls.

Besides, most of the people who would install a supercharger on a 4runner are probably more concerned about usable power than maximum horsepower.

But, you're right; the thread I linked does sound mostly like a bunch of young douche bags.
