Recently noticed a pretty annoying rattling noise when going more than 55mph, turns out it’s the driver’s side rear flare on the door (pic below). It doesn’t seem wildly loose as if the clips are totally broken, but it has more play and there is more of a gap on it than on the other side which makes no noise. It seems as if I need to put a little seal or something there to keep it from rattling, but is it possible to do that without removing the piece entirely? My first thought was pull the whole thing off, replace the clips and add a seal, but I’ve read that removing these can easily cause dents in the metal, trying to avoid that just to fix a rattle. But, it’s a pretty annoying rattle…

    Any advice is appreciated!

For pressure clips, I have used felt tape (jvcc) wrapped around them with success on other vehicles

Not sure of a way to do this without removing it. Go gently starting at one end and work your way around it. Skip prying with trim tools if you choose to attempt it.

Also, see what others post here. I haven't pulled the flares on mine so I dont really know what kind of clips are used
