Yup! Got one in my 2016. Above the screen. It think this is the factory head unit for 2016-2018.

I just cleaned a layer of dirt sludge/dog slobber from the port of my CD player on my 2019 yesterday. Forgot I had one!

 

It's 2024, CD means crossdresser.

 

the 5th gens start in 2010
the 5th gens could have had a CD player up thru mid year 2020 when they came out with the new larger screen in the dash
the 5th gens with the standard audio 2010-2013
the 5th gens with the JBL audio in 2011-2013
the 5th gens with the Entune audio in 2012-2019.5
all of these could have a CD player. There are some of the Entune models that did not have a CD player but, i cant tell you which models didnt its just kinda hit and miss.

 

There are so many ways to play music, I wouldn't let CD player availability impact my vehicle search.

Have you tried ripping all your CDs to MP3 format, and just putting that on your phone?

 

Micro thumb drive with MP3 format files for the win.

 

And here I am just wanting a way to play that 8 track of Cosmo's Factory.

 

This, you also can buy a consumer CD player (or borrow one from the museum) and hook it up if there’s an aux input or via BT/FM Radio adapter like the good ol’ days.

My '18 SR5 came with a CD player.

 

I think up to 2021?

 

2020+ 4Runners I believe lose the CD player for sure in favor of CarPlay and other bits.

The question is whether they kept the CD player up to 2019?

 

I have an iPod now ~15 years old but still works like a charm, it has >5,000 songs on it. Plugs into aux port and system recognizes it and allows control from the screen just like an iPhone. iPods are still available (check on eBay). Yeh, you would have to burn your CD's into iTunes but in the long run that's a whole lot easier than carrying hundreds of CD's around in the car waiting for them to melt in hot weather. Or, just burn them to MP3 format on a thumb drive.

 

My 2019 came with one, after that year Toyota discontinued the CD player.

It's hard to produce the same audio quality as a CD with a regular MP3, let alone WiFi/BT connections. So i appreciate wanting the CD player, too bad the audio system in the 4R is terrible.

 

I miss the factory 6 disc CD player that came in my 2006 Tundra.

 

My 07 FJ had this, too. I've never put a CD in my 2019......yet.
