On Auto Trader I ran a search for SR5 Premium's in the $32 - 35k range - nationwide. This is what I found:

    https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...h=true&searchRadius=0&sortBy=derivedpriceDESC

There are some REALLY great deals out there, excellent condition, very low miles, etc.. But it varies from region to region.

OP it seems like you're really going through it. I like that you're sticking to your guns on a Premium, either SR5 or OR. Most of us have been through this already but here's the thing. The 4R you want that fits your budget is probably out there, but you might have to travel, or put that travel budget towards one locally and pay a little more. Once you've done that, pull the trigger, and are happy with the miles/features/price, I promise you someone here will say you overpaid or show you a similar rig for $1500 less. Its just the way it works with 20,000 sets of eyes on the internet. Autotrader, cars, cargurus, edmunds, and even carfax are good research sites. Set your distance, dial in your filters, and start searching. You'll find everything we can, and you'll get an idea of what you want is going for. When you find it, buy it, and ignore anything any of us say about price. Its your money, not ours.

Post pics once you get it, and then let us decide how spend your money modding it!

    Thank you @Borracho Loco @HuskerRunner

You guys always seem to respond and I really appreciate it. Glad I'm not being told to shut up and just buy one. haha

Ive been doing a lot of my own research for a couple months and have never been part of a forum, so I thought I'd ask some goofy questions and get peoples opinions. Im willing to travel wherever.

Im located in Portland Oregon but born and raised in Phoenix AZ and travel back there for work a lot. so I am looking there as well. No sales tax here in oregon too which makes me want a new one and just pony up but I want to work on sticking to a budget and know I can get a good deal on a used 4runner that could be almost 10k less than a new one.

You all have helped me a lot... Was set on a ORP for a month cause I wanted the rear locker and the crawl controls but then realized I never off road and if I did... It would be easy fun trails through the forest. Never would I attempt to crawl up rocks. So why the hell do I need those options?? Would love to have them but honestly that 3rd row would be used weekly with taking the nephews to sports. I do not want the limited though. So that leaves me with the SR5 Premium.

I went and looked at this one yesterday and did like it. No 3rd row though and is priced to high in my opinion. Might throw them an offer though.

Add $4000 more to your 35kish and you will get a brand spanking new one. Don't be afraid of new!

AZ might be a better market. I dont know if color is an issue but there is a 2020 SR5P at Bellroad Toyota thats a lot closer to your $35k budget and seemingly checks a lot of boxes. The 3rd row definitely cuts down choices but they're out there

Are you seeing Premiums at $39k new, or just SR5s? OP has pointed out in almost every thread he wants a Premium

    @Yotaholic How can I get a SR% Premium brand new for 39k?

MSRP looks to be around 48-51 depending on options..

Thats a nice truck but not a premium. Thank you though. Definitely would like the premium version for the moonroof and soft-tek seats

@DummyDee12 Might be a rental previously, I didnt check as I'm at work. That scares some folks, occassionally myself included, but probably no worse than a previously lifted truck. Its a crapshoot with used, all you can do is check what can and decide if you want to roll the dice. Plenty of people buy used with no issues.

Whatever you do, do not buy a rental vehicle. I've said it before, I'll say it again....

Buying a rental vehicle is like marrying a hooker. They were all ridden hard. Used, abused and no one took care of them.

23 Limited $38,900 but it had 60,000 miles. Luckily it was serviced every 5000 miles at the dealership where it was purchased and was CPO and the miles don't seem to show.73499900643__53C19A0B-3F52-470C-B42C-625909E871F1.jpg

I went to purchase a pre owned ORP and when I got to the dealer they also had a limited. So before paying the man for the ORP I asked for a test drive in the limited just to satisfy my curiosity. I ended up getting the limited. Driving them back to back I thought the limited drove much better and had climate control as well as AWD. I’m not sure how you are planning to use your vehicle whether hard core off road is your intention but test drive em all in your price range to see what you like. I’m in the northeast and sometimes see the limiteds for a little less than the other models except the sr5.

Buy new! Contact all the dealerships within 200 miles and offer them $45,000 or less, someone might take it. Be flexible about color and options. You might get a SR5 Premium $3,000.00-$4,000.00 below sticker. Here's an example of what's out there. I'm pretty sure they will come down at least $3,000-4,000.

    New 2024 Toyota4Runner SR5 Premium 4x4 SRP $46,594, Reduced $1583, Sale $45,011

A new base 4WD SR5 can realistically be had for about $40k. A new SR5 Premium 4WD will be about $44k.

Given the way things are going, keep a sharp eye out for estate sales. I'm keeping mine until the end. Even then someone may want to keep it in the family.

Thank you all.. Still searching but was offered invoice on a 2024 SR5 Premium.. So around 44k. Is it crazy for me to think I can still get it cheaper? Lots of people are saying that later this year the prices of new and used have to come down.. Thoughts? Only speaking of 5th Gen Runners

If it’s at invoice and has everything that you want, why keep looking. You can try to negotiate into the holdback and wholesale financial reserve.
