Hey everyone, brand new Toyota 4Runner owner here. My boyfriend had told me to join this forum since I’m wanting to do some upgrades with it. I’m located in NE Texas and was hoping to see if anyone could point me in the right direction of a roof rack that can support a roof top tent with two people and 2 medium sized dogs? This is the first time I will have ever owned a tent like this so I would love all the tips and tricks y’all have! I’ll also post pictures of my runner in a bit! I’m wanting to take some really nice ones

Any of the aftermarket roof racks should be able to support a tent like gobi, prinsu, uptop, frontrunner, victory, and what not. Just do some googling and shopping around and I’m sure you’ll come across a variety of options.

If you have factory roof rails I believe you can get crossbars that are after market that will hold the weight. What tent you thinking about?

I was mainly thinking about the Smittybilt Overlander just because it’s the most inexpensive one I can find however the Thule Tepui looks good as well

Ahh soft cover. If you keep an eye out on Tacoma World dot com, they pop up for sale as folks move up to the hard shells.
