Do any of you have a suggestion for a remote start kit that would allow me to only have one key fob in my pocket? I hate to carry one for the remote start and one for the keyless start. Ideally, it would be an app on my phone and no additional FOB.

I am really disappointed that Toyota doesn't have remote start as a standard feature.
I honestly didn't even think to ask about it... I thought it was a pretty standard on every car built except for the cheapest shit-boxes.

I do have navigation but I don't have the JBL system.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

12 Volt but any plug n play remote start will shut the engine off when you open the door.

    Thank you for the response...
I take my dog to work with me and whenever I have a stop to make I'd like to be able to leave the truck running to keep him cool in the summer.
I keep it in the garage at home, so that isn't a big concern.

I put one of these in my Limited a couple of months ago. It's performed flawlessly and uses the OEM fob. You'll see it offered with optional remotes for longer distance starting but they're not required. For an additional $130 it'll come with a cell module to start/stop lock/unlock with an app from anywhere. While using the app is a cool and convenient feature, you will still always need the fob on your person to operate it after a remote start with the app. Took me under 30 minutes, no wire splicing, easy install.

This seems like what I'm after. Has it worked well for you? How long have you had it?

    Thanks for this info!...

As I said, a couple of months now and it's performed flawlessly. Your install may be a little longer than my 2019 took as one of the connections for 2020+ models is behind the glovebox so it's a little more involved but still not bad.

I guess I didn't read your post very carefully and went straight for the link... Sorry about that, but thank you for the info.

The 10th digit is a P, so I think I'm good to go. Really appreciate it.

the 2023 is completely different due to the key fob design.

It's super easy. The hardest part is finding a spot for the modules. There's a flatish spot above the knee airbag on the dash structure and I ran the antenna up to the A pillar.

My 2023 has remote start from factory using presses of the key fob or using the Toyota app.

    Pending spouse approval....
Be prepared, that accessorides one (I have it too) only lets the car run for 10 min before shutting off. They say you can extend the time by 10 min, adding to the initial time. Not each time you remote start it.
It was in the negatives near Chicago, was hoping it would warm up for 20 min.. I came out to a car that was off and cooling after only running for 10 min.

Thanks for that info... I'd be pretty pissed at myself if I came out and the pup was in a hot car.
