Asking price is a little high, but I like this thing. It has a key and I love that. The problem is that the service history does not show five oil changes. Five services, but not five oil changes.
    What should I do?

Wouldn’t the 5 services be rotating the tires every 5K mikes and then 2 oil changes at 10K and 20K miles?

I would look underneath very carefully. Make sure the frame looks decent and that there are no issues with rust or anything like that. I wouldn't worry about the oil changes if you are able to trace them to where they were completed. My 2c. Good luck.

That's the problem, I don't like that oil change after 10,000 miles. Two oil changes in 26,000 mi, that is a horrible start.

Yeah that’s an ongoing debate on the forums…Toyota’s 10K mile recommendation versus a lot of people preferring to change their oil more frequently.

Yeah who knew that discussing oil change intervals would be almost as dangerous as mentioning your political or religious affiliations? All 3 are guaranteed to trigger bickering.

It is crazy that people don't change the oil every year at least

It is a $48k truck something that I would keep for as long as I can. Oil changes are important

I 100% agree it should be done once a year. But I'm not going to discuss the mileage change interval. Thats the part that gets panties in a bunch.

    *edit

Because I skipped a whole year so ignore that

If it bothers you that much now walk because it nothing you do will change was or wasn't done previously. Seems to me with 5 services the guy was taking it in for its 5k intervals just fine. I would be thankful to see that kind of history honestly.

I don’t believe his comment was directed at you. It was most likely directed at the fact that some members love to argue oil change intervals, oil weights, and oil brands until they’re blue in the face…only to do it again the following week and the week after that.

If you're paying $48K for a 2019 black TRD Pro, that is insane. Why not just buy a brand new 2023/2024 TRD Off-road premium in black for about the same price?

I think I'm going to go ahead with it. After I pick it up, I'm going to do the oil change myself with some delicious Toyota oil and filter and stop worrying. That 4.0 is a solid powertrain.
    Case closed!

Well, if you add KDSS the price goes up. Your 2019 Pro doesn't have KDSS and is already 4 years old and close to getting another depreciation hit when MY24 is released. A 2023 OFRP with moonroof and MTM is only $49k MSRP and about $45-46K invoice. Just friendly advice but it's your money at the end of the day.

The new ones have many bells and whistles that add to the price. 2019 doesn't even have the safety set

I paid $50,488 for an almost fully optioned out ORP with KDSS, premium plus w/multi terrain monitor, sunroof, blackout overlays, performance led headlights, dual usb charging with cable package and all weather mats and cargo tray.

Sounds like up you want a new truck, friend. I’m changing mine at 1k and every 5 after that, but if I ever trade in, the next person won’t have any idea because I’m not letting the clowns at the dealer touch it. Guess what I’m trying to say is vehicle history alone doesn’t mean additional service wasnt done, but if you want to be sure, buy new.

Hahahaha! There's only one topic someone can tangibly be correct about and that is 5k oil changes!

Some people don't think about long-term, those are the people that change their oil every 10,000 miles and won't care if the cars got 120,000 miles and starts burning oil because it'll be somebody else's problem.

Personally, if they're not doing the most basic of maintenance, there's probably some other problems in there as well.

New ones are coming down in price as more inventory is available.

    A few things:

I would highly recommend changing out the PCV valve. It's $6 and two oil changes in 26,000 miles has probably sludged it up enough.

Before doing the oil change I would recommend pouring in a little Gumout Multi-System Tune-Up at the least. Hot Shots Oil Treatment would be a good choice too. Loosen up and clean out the sludge.

Keep an eye on your coolant levels. An engine that hasn't had sufficient oil changes and has had coolant level issues is a red flag.

160k of 10k interval changes on mine so far.
If it's 48k, just buy a new TRD OR and start the oil changes whenever you like.

The thing probably wasn't even 48k new.

There are '23 ORPs with KDSS in my neighborhood with $51K MSRP and $1k off that. OP should look around for a better deal than that '19 Pro.

In forum posts like this, I often wonder is this a troll?

There are bad deals all over the place, this could be one of them, true.

It is $52,175 to be exact, not $53,000. It is a 2023 KDSS.
